Murong Xuecun

China

Murong Xuecun is the nom de plume of Hao Qun, one of China’s first internet-based writers. Born in 1974, he studied law at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing. A prominent social critic, he became a contributing opinion writer for the International New York Times in 2013.

Natasha Yacoub

Natasha Yacoub is a refugee law practitioner and scholar. She has worked with legal aid and the UN in Egypt, Sudan, Myanmar, Australia and the Pacific. She teaches at the University of London and is doing a PhD at the Kaldor Centre at UNSW Sydney. She publishes on refugee issues, including protecting refugees at sea and the failure of Australia’s offshore processing.

Ruhi Yaganagi is an Iranian-Indian contemporary artist and poet with a love for the arts as a channel for self-reflection, the sharing of stories, and the building of vibrant communities. Her creative passions are constantly growing, ranging from oil painting to jewellery, ceramics, photography, and spoken word. She is currently drawn to exploring concepts of culture, identity, belonging, and spirituality through her art practice.

Rachel Yoder

United States

Rachel Yoder is the author of Nightbitch, her debut novel released in July 2021, which has also been optioned for film by Annapurna Pictures with Amy Adams set to star. She is a graduate of the Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program and also holds an MFA in fiction from the University of Arizona. Her writing has been awarded with The Editors' Prize in Fiction by The Missouri Review and with notable distinctions in Best American Short Stories and Best American Nonrequired Reading. She is also a founding editor of draft: the journal of process. Rachel grew up in a Mennonite community in the Appalachian foothills of eastern Ohio. She now lives in Iowa City with her husband and son.
