As we lurch from one scandal of misspent public money to the next, transparency and accountability in public life have never seemed rarer. Fiona McLeod is Chair of the Accountability Round Table. Her book, Easy Lies and Influence, documents how community interests have been undermined. Through his fiercely independent news site, Michael West is known for following the money, highlighting those corporations exercising insidious power over our democracy. They ask: where have we gone wrong and what should we do now?

Fiona McLeod is recognised as a leader of the legal profession for having helmed the peak national legal bodies, including the Law Council of Australia. She is the Chair of the Accountability Round Table, a body committed to improving integrity in public office, and was an inaugural recipient of the Commonwealth Anti-Slavery Award.

Michael West is a Walkley Award-winning journalist who worked as a stockbroker and columnist and investigative journalist at both of Australia's major media houses before striking out on his own with independent website, Michael West Media. He is best known for his work on multinational tax avoidance and corporate and political corruption.

Royce Kurmelovs is a journalist and writer whose work has been published by the ABC, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera English, VICE, and The Guardian. Royce's bestselling first book, The Death of Holden, was published in 2016, followed by Rogue Nation and Boom and Bust. His latest book is Just Money.
