Tanya Dalziell is an Associate Professor of English and Literary Studies at the University of Western Australia. With Paul Genoni, she is the author of Half the Perfect World: Writers, Dreamers and Drifters on Hydra, 1955–1964, which won the 2019 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Non-Fiction.

Paul Genoni teaches with the School of Media, Culture and Creative Arts at Curtin University, where he is Head of the Department of Information Studies. He is a former President of the Association for the Study of Australian Literature, and co-editor (with Tanya Dalziell) of Telling Stories: Australian Life and Literature, 1935-2012 (2013). With Tanya, he is also the co-author of Half the Perfect World: Writers, Dreamers and Drifters on Hydra, 1955–1964, which won the 2019 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Non-Fiction.

Polly Samson is an award-winning author. Her most recent novel is the best-selling The Theatre for Dreamers, a fictionalised account of the Charmian Clift – George Johnston inner circle and their 1960 summer on Hydra. Polly also wrote the introductions to the new editions of Clift’s Peel Me a Lotus and Mermaid Singing. She has written lyrics for four number-one albums and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.

Sophie Cunningham is the author of seven books including City of Trees: Essays on Life, Death and the need for a Forest. Sophie is also a teacher, mentor, climate change activist, wildlife advocate and every day she posts an image of a tree on her Instagram @sophtreeofday. Her novel This Devastating Fever is coming out with Ultimo Press in September 2022 and she has also begun researching a new non-fiction book, The Time Machines: In search of ten of Australia’s oldest and most remote trees.
