Calling all young writers: The Adelaide Writers' Week Microstory Competition is on again in 2022! Supported by 9News, this competition invites young people aged under 18 to submit a microstory of 50 words or less.

In 2022, the theme for the story is A Better Picture (this is also the theme of Writers' Week in 2022). Read more about the theme in this message from Writers' Week Director Jo Dyer.

The winner will receive a $500 gift card courtesy of 9News and a YA Day book pack courtesy of Writers' Week. The winning story will be announced at the Writers' Week Middle Grade & YA Day on Sunday 6 March, 2022.

The competition is now open so get creative! But remember, your story needs to be told in no more than 50 words.

Entries closed at 5pm (ACDT) on Monday 14 February, 2022.
