2012 pictures

The 2012 Adelaide Festival marked the final year for Artistic Director Paul Grabowsky, celebrating with a bumper program featuring 68 events. This included 37 world premieres, and 62 Australian premieres. The 2012 festival ran from Friday, March 2 to Sunday, March 18.

Highlights from the festival included the Australian premiere of Krzysztof Warlikowski’s play A Streetcar, based on Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire – a masterpiece production that featured French screen legend Isabelle Huppert.

Other highlights of the festival included Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker – featuring Tony Award winning British actor Jonathan Pryce, and Bloodland – a theatre production featuring an indigenous cast of 12 presented by Sydney Theatre Company and Adelaide Festival in association with Bangarra Dance Theatre.
